Model Amati 1566. 35,4cm length. This instrument was made with an Amati’s model of an instrument commissioned by Caterina de Medici to the King Carlo IX of France. The back is a single piece of maple with a medium deep and regular flame. The ribs and the head are made with the same wood of the back. The table is made of “Val di Fiemme” spruce with a straight and regular grain.It’s alcohol varnished and yellow-amber colored. The decorations are made on the back, the ribs and the head copying the original designs. The paintings are made by oil and acrylics. This instrument is of baroque construction, and the varnish it’s similar to the period style.
